"I've missed over 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times I've been trusted to take the gamewinning shot...and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." — Michael Jordan
I want to be successful. I want to be a great football player
A teenager of 17 went to a football coach and said:
"Hi Sir, I want to be successful. I want to be a great football player"
Master turned away and asked "Do u know how to swim?"
He replied "No sir. But how has it got any relation with football?"
Master smiled and said "come and meet me in the beach tomorrow morning at 5 a.m.
(Next day morning, by the time, the teenager went, master was already there).
Master started straight away "Go into the water"
He did as he asked. The water was up to his waist.
Master said " deeper".
He did and now the water was up to his neck.
Master ordered "Few more steps"
A teenager moved two feet deeper and the water was now up to his ears and he was shouting "I do not want to learn swimming, I want to learn football".
Master shouted back "Go in"
A teenager did and when he was unable to get his feet on the land, he gasped, tried his best to come forward, to breathe.
Master dragged him out and asked him
"What were you thinking of when you were about to drown? what did you want to do?"
He took his time to catch his breath and said
"I wanted to come out, I wanted to breath"
Master asked again "Did you think of a party?"
He replied "No"
"Did you think of eating, sleeping, watching movies?"
"No, I just wanted to breathe"
Master started explaining, "When you want to succeed as hard as you wanted to breathe, then you'll be successful". You do not care about a party, not about anything. Many of us don't want to be successful as we want to sleep. If you want to be successful, you might need to sleep for only 4 hours, 3 hours, or you might need to work 48 hours without a break. Then you will be successful.
If needed, sacrifice what you are to become what you want to!

My Hero - Srikanth Bolla
He is Srikanth Bolla, a 24 year old blind entrepreneur from Hyderabad, and he is my hero from now on. When he was born, his parents, who were earning Rs 20,000 in a year, were advised to get rid of him, but somehow he survived.
Despite getting 90% in class 10th, he was not allowed to chose Science stream for 12th; he sued the State Govt., fought for 6 months, and won the case. He scored 98% with Science in 12th.
When IITs and NITs didnt give him hall ticket for writing competitive exams, he applied overseas, and got selected in 4 of the best colleges ever created on Earth: MIT, Stanford, Berkeley, and Carnegie Mellon. He chose Massachusetts Institute of Technology, received a scholarship, and was MIT's first International blind student.
After returning from US in 2012, he launched Bollant Industries, where 60% of employees are poor, physically challenged. This 450 employees company is now worth Rs 50 crore, and even Ratan Tata had to invest in him.
As per him, “I was made blind by the perception of people.." When the world said to him that you can't do anything, Bolla said, "But I look up at the world and say I can do anything."
Yes, he is my hero from now on..
Kung Fu Panda
3 biggest lessons which I learnt while watching Kung Fu Panda, which I would describe as the most naked, explosive, powerful Zen movie I ever saw on big screen:
- The more you take, the less you have (this was the 'Satori' moment of my life..!)
- Are you confused in identifying yourself: Are you a student? a Teacher? The entrepreneur? An employee? The father? The son? Daughter? The answer is that you are 'All of them' at the same time (the moment of realization!)
- The purpose isn't to become like your hero.. the purpose is to become like you.. Because only you can find the answers. (the most powerful lesson any teacher can give to his students.. become YOU!)
So, before going for Ki Ka with your spouse, I will strongly recommend watching Kung Fu Panda 3, alone.. You will understand a lot of things about yourself.
